We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of The Optiver & Cambridge Trading Academy in partnership with CUATS, an in-person four-week class on options trading in Michaelmas term 2024!

This practical, in-person, short course is intended to introduce Cambridge students to real-life algorithm implementation using Optibook, Optiver’s simulated market exchange. We’re really excited about this partnership with Optiver and the course itself as it unlike any course currently offered at Cambridge.

During the course, you will be exposed to three algorithm exercises (i.e. mini-competitions) leading up to the final major competition, the winners of which will be announced on 16 November. No background knowledge of finance is necessary although basic Python coding skills are required.

Participation is open to all current University of Cambridge students and free-of-charge. However, spaces are limited and students admitted to the programme must commit to attending all eight sessions of the course to obtain a Certificate of Participation upon completion.

The dates of the course are 25 October – 16 November, 2024, and the timetable has been designed to take place on Friday and Saturday afternoons, divided into theory and workshop sessions respectively, so as to minimise scheduling conflicts with other classes during term time.
